The King's Speech gana los premios gordos y confirma el conservadurismo de la Academia


Esta madrugada, era una madrugada especial para los cinéfilos. Los valientes españoles que nos hemos quedado despiertos (los andaluces que hoy tenían fiesta no cuentan xD) hemos acabado como siempre... enfadados. Sí, porque sabemos que casi nunca aciertan, y casi siempre pecan de conservadores. Siempre hay una película que lleva un cartelito de "votame soy película Oscar" y siempre acaba ganando esa; este año la película en cuestión es The King's Speech, un film británico que si bien no es malo, no es el mejor de los nominados.

La gala se puede resumir con dos palabras sosa y aburrida. Algo más corta de lo que nos tiene acostumbrados se nos ha hecho largísima, y si no hubiera sido por debates en las redes sociales como el twitter y el facebook más de uno y de dos se hubiera quedado dormido. El hecho de que la gran mayoría de premios importantes estuvieran decididos antes de empezar tampoco a ayudado a aumentar el interés. Solo fotografía y banda sonora se puede decir que estaban un poco más abierto. La SORPRESA de la noche ha sido sin duda el ninguneo que ha sufrido Fincher una vez más. Parece mentira que nos sigamos sorprendiendo, pero es así. La academia no quiere a Fincher, o como mínimo aun no, porque seguro que a lo largo de su vida recibirá algún Oscar, solo espero que no sea Póstumo o Honorífico.

Los Oscars a mejores interpretaciones nada que objetar. Todas me parecen justas y acertadas. Me alegro por Firth sobre todo porque en su speech demostró que es una persona humilde y que reconoce que, aunque ha sido reconocido por esta película, su nominación y actuación el año pasado en A Single Man de Tom Ford, película que este blog no se cansa de recomendar, fue fundamental. Felicidades a una Portman embarazadísima y guapísima, a Leo (que iba de transgresora pero perdió protagonista al estar Kirk Douglas encima del escenario) y a Bale.

La ceremonia ha empezado con un video esperanzador con Anne Hathaway y James Franco parodiando las nominadas al premio gordo; pero poco a poco todo se ha vuelto tedioso y solo alguna pequeña intervención la ha levantado. Los jóvenes presentadores no han mejorado demasiado el resultado del año pasado, no le han puesto ritmo y poco a poco han ido desapareciendo. Hathaway ha estado mejor que su compañero, atreviéndose a cantar, cambiándose de vestido cada 2x3 y a despertar a la audiencia en momentos puntuales. Franco ha estado muy flojo y lo más interesante que hizo fue ir subiendo fotos y videos del backstage por twitter.

Los MOMENTAZOS de la ceremonia celebrada, como siempre en el Kodak Theatre, han sido Kirk Douglas, que parecía un loco que se había escapado de un geriátrico con muchas ganas de protagonismo (en realidad lo es), la aparición de Billy Crystal, y el In Memoriam que inevitablemente humedece siempre los ojos; y, en menor medidalas mini-intervenciones de Downey Jr. y Law que demostraron más química que los dos presentadores (Ya están tardando en poner a Robert Downey Jr. de presentador de alguna ceremonia de premios), la aparición de Kevin Spacey, un actorazo que lamentablemente se deja ver muy poco, y Hugh Jackman que se le ha echado de menos en la presentación.
